It’s funny how the word “fearing” generally holds negative connota-
tions of helplessness and victimhood or danger and aggression (de-
pending on whether you’re the person feeling the fear or the one in-
stilling it).
But add the word “God-” and it suddenly turns into a virtue and both
the fearer and the fearee into an all-around good individual.
Religion has established the Stockholm syndrome thousands of years
before there even was a city of Stockholm…

Who Created the Creator?

leave a comment »

I was
the kind of child who would always ask, “well, if everything as so-
phisticated as a living being must be created, who created the liv-
ing creator then?”

And if any child does not wonder about that, if the question never
even occurs to them, then maybe it doesn’t really matter what they
believe, since they are obviously incapable of coherent thought. So
a little scientific knowledge in the heads of those children might
do a lot more harm than good once they grow up. Just think of all
those murdering morons who interpreted Darwinism in terms of racial
wars and genocides in the 20th century…!

Maybe we should let fundamentalists teach all the creationism they
want. Their smart offspring will realize it’s bullshit eventually,
just like I did, and for the rest it’s probably for the best that
they think in terms of fairy tales rather than reality…
